Restore the Rose Arbour on Clapham Common West Side
Donation protected
The Rose Arbour on West Side has been a cherished local landmark since the mid 1980’s. In early 2024 the upright posts started to break and large sections of the pergola have now completely collapsed.
The structure is just over 35 metres in length and supports a large number of climbing roses, which provide pollen, nectar and habitat for invertebrates as well as nesting sites for birds.
The Friends of Clapham Common (Charity Number 1199785) and Wild Clapham are planning to replace the whole structure with a brand new Rose Arbour. The cost of the project is £15,800 and the Friends are contributing £2,000 to start the ball rolling.
