Hi, my name is Sarah, and my partner Luke and I are big dreamers who left our country and busy lives in search of a simpler life in Central Portugal.

6 years ago we stepped foot on the most beautiful piece of land we had ever seen and set eyes on a ruin on the most breathtaking plateau we had ever seen and knew it was meant for us. We spent our life savings on it and knew it would be years before we would be able to restore this beautiful old cheese factory on a hill to its former glory.

The land was abandoned for more than 40 years and there was absolutely nothing on it so we started from scratch. Everything was in our hands, we had never taken on such a huge project but we found true happiness and learned so much. From clearing land just to put a caravan on it, cleaning and rebuilding the well to get to our only water source, getting water to our caravan, and investing in solar because we are totally off the grid. Growing our food, building a barn, getting our first farm animals, building our tiny home, and right now building an earthbag house for our pigs.

I don't need to tell you we are kept very busy but very happy, but the one question always at the back of our minds is... When are we going to have enough to rebuild the beautiful ruin, our final home?

We love our tiny home but my heart aches every time I walk past the ruin. We want to make it beautiful, wake up to the amazing view we have in front of it, and listen to the sound of the river which is only a few minutes walk from there. But funds are always an issue.

So here I am asking you to become a part of our success story, all funds will go towards the planning, architect fees, permits, materials, a pick-up truck to be able to take the materials to the ruin and the rebuilding of the ruin.

We will start on this project after we finish building our outdoor kitchen but

it would be AMAZING to be able to start working on it this year 2024

And because we can't thank you by getting you all 

here individually....that would be crazy, we don't have

enough time or space on the land. Anyone who gives us

more than 20 Euros we will keep your name and write it

down as many times as you've donated and your name will

go into a draw, so when the day finally arrives and we move 

out of the Gypsy Caravan and into the ruin, which will by

then be our beautiful home. We will have a draw and the

name that gets picked will spend the weekend with us in

the Gypsy Caravan. I'll take you on a beautiful walk around

the land, you can spend time with the animals and Luke will

cook you some delicious food.
