Dear Friends and Family,

I am reaching out during this time to request your support. As some of you know, I have been dealing with multiple pelvic organ prolapses, including a grade 2 cystocele, grade 3 rectocele, and grade 2 uterine prolapse. They were discovered in November of 2022 during an emergency department visit for a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst. These conditions have made it challenging to do simple daily activities, such as walking, standing for long periods, bending over, and lifting more than 5 pounds. Additionally, it makes it difficult to continue working as a health advocate.

After consulting with my doctor, she referred me to a urogynecologist specializing in pelvic floor prolapses. I now face a laparoscopic colpo-suspension with simultaneous bladder suspension, hysterectomy, and rectocele repair to relieve my symptoms. Unfortunately, the estimated cost of this procedure is $20,000-$30,000 or more.

I have already incurred $7,600 in medical bills and have additional appointment pre-estimates of $3,760 over the coming weeks. The total expenses so far stand at $11,360. GoFundMe charges a processing fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation, and the total has been adjusted to $12,000 to account for this. Three of four scheduled appointments are in the next two weeks, and estimates are due in full at the time of service.

It's been a humbling experience to face such physical limitations and pain, but I am determined to regain my health and vitality. I miss playing in the dirt and my daily dose of vitamin D. I cannot wait to walk my dog again and to be able to explore with my children. The upcoming surgery will allow me to reclaim my life, but I need your help to make it happen.

I will donate all remaining proceeds to organizations that support women's health and wellness. I will update the campaign when I receive an official quote from the urogynecologist to ensure donors understand the total costs and procedures recommended.
