RESTORING HOPE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW

Restoring hope for a Better Tomorrow is a project dedicated to help children in underserved communities in Port-au-Prince, Haiti by providing them with backpacks and school supplies. Catherina Davius, who was the president of her nursing cohort at New York Institute of Technology, founded  Restoring Hope for a better Tomorrow in 2018.  Ms. Davius, understood how important her education was to her, and she wanted   to make sure that children in her native country Haiti had the same chance to succeed in the classroom and in life as she did.  Ms. Davius, realized that she could help in a small but important way by making sure that Port-au-Prince children had the supplies to succeed in school.  So in 2018, Ms. Davius raised money and  distributed 2000 backpacks full of school supplies to children in Port-au-Prince.

Much has been done, but more remains to do.  Many children in Port-au-Prince still do not have the educational supplies to make their education  success. Many families not only cannot afford the cost of education but also are unable to provide  the basic school supplies their children need in the classroom. The lack of adequate school supplies, which underpin a quality education, remains widespread despite the funding  commitments of the Haitian governments and other organizations to strengthen schools. Catherina ´s mission remains to restore hope for a better tomorrow by closing the gap that puts a generation of Haitian children at risk by denying the knowledge and skills to succeed in life.
