Restoring Hope to Chilton County Humane Society

Tax deductible

Hi, my name is April Buchanan. I began this fundraiser for this reason: I wanted to help but the need was too great for one person and while praying I asked, “Lord how can I help our local humane society with so many needs?” Then, the answer came and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

We have a wonderful community of so many who love to help and often many want to do more but are only able to do so much with needs so great, however, if we all do a little, then it becomes much.

The best way to get big projects done is - together!

Our local humane society has been blessed with local schools, churches and many in the community at various times working together to graciously provide for many needs both big and small and I’m confident that the help has always been as appreciated as the needs themselves.

Today, we have an opportunity to work together to restore hope for our shelter. The needs are great, but together I’m confident we can restore hope to our little shelter that’s such an important need and part of our community. No animal wants to end up in the shelter, but for a time it is their temporary refuge.

I’m asking all of us to join together in raising much needed funds for renovations to our shelter. I spoke with Director, Jennifer Fesmire to find out what the greatest needs are and with genuine gratitude and hope she shared a few with me but at top of the list is a roof to cover the run for the outside dogs.

Why a roof? The roof will not only provide shelter from rain and heat over their heads, but under their little paws. Life at the shelter can be bleak without being able to enjoy some sunshine or all that each season provides. It’s good not only for their physical health, but emotionally and mentally. We all know how getting outside is good for us as well. These furbabies don’t need to live in quarantine day in and day out. We all learned last year how awful that can be and many broke free to the beaches and any outdoor events as soon as they were open. We have the opportunity to provide for these shelter babies an area to enjoy their outdoor runs without enduring harsh seasonal elements that could keep them from a little fresh air that is good for their all around health and happiness.

Will you join with me in restoring hope to our humane society beginning with their greatest need for a roof for their outside dog area?

One person cannot adopt all these fur-babies (as much as we might like to), and we can’t all do all the restorations needed, however, each of our little can provide what will not only be so very appreciated by the incredible shelter Director, workers and volunteers, but each and every shelter fur-baby that comes through.

We can do this - together.

I travel all over with my husband who works out of town and as many places as I find so charming and wonderful, I can honestly say, “There’s no place like home.” We love our community. These fur-babies are counting on us.

All donations go directly to Chilton County Humane Society and your donations are tax deductible.
