PEEL ANIMAL RESCUE SOCIETY (PARS) is a Non Profit Group run 100% by Volunteers. We are based in Mississauga , Ontario and are dedicated to Rescuing Homeless Dogs and Cats, especially those on Death Rows.
COVID-19 has hit hard not only on people, but PETS. This is especially so in Caribbean countries like Barbados. Sadly, many people cannot afford to feed their families and have to surrender or abandon their pets. Right now, the shelters there are OVERWHELMED with Animals, some have over 200 dogs! The shelters are BURSTING at the seams. and are imply unable to take in more animals. Dogs are dumped in fields in the burning sun, hacked with machetes, poisoned or worse... These poor animals need HELP from other countries.
To make things worse, all flights from the Caribbean are not allowed at this time. The only way the dogs and cats can fly to Canada is by a CHARTER FLIGHT. Thanks to the Eastern Ontario Potcake Rescue (EOPR) who is organizing the Barbados Refugee Project (for Animals)! A Charter Plane is booked for MAY 22, 2021 to fly 200 dogs and some cats to Canada so they can find homes in our country. This is done by teaming up with various Rescue Groups like PARS , each taking about 20-25 dogs, and some cats. These dogs and cats are vetted and are adoptable; and can easily find homes in Canada.
PARS is a Team Member of the Barbados Refugee Project and we plan to take in 22 dogs and 20 cats. The Flight cost of a Charter Plane is very expensive. It costs about $500 for one dog ad $75 for one cat. It means a total of $12,500. This needs to be paid before the Flight Date. At this time, like most Charities, PARS is very limited in Resources and are extremely short of funds . We therefore have set up this GoFundMe to:
TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE FLIGHT COST of 22 dogs and 20 cats from Barbados. OUR GOAL is $12,500.
