Resurfacing of paths at the Riverside Park Scariff
Donation protected
Scariff Community Council is a committed group of volunteers, who represent the local businesses and members of the local community.
Since 2005, the Scariff Community Council has developed the Riverside Park for community use. The park facilities consist of a playground, a 1km looped walk, 6 outdoor adult exercise stations, and one station which is dedicated to wheelchair users. The park is a wonderful public amenity for the area. However, we need to carry out much needed improvements especially to the paths.
The Scariff Community plan to carry out the following works of widening the existing 1KM looped walk with a tarmac and concrete finish. Laying of ducting cabling for future park lights and security cameras.
The total cost of works will be approximately €45,000, which we hope to raise via fundraising and various grant funding schemes.
With your help we aim to start work on the top part of the path this September.
This work will allow for safe interaction in the park, whilst also allowing for increased participation for all ages and abilities, for example, it will encourage children to engage in other activities such as cycling or skating/roller-blading and encourage more outdoor activities for our older members of our community.
Please help us in our journey to make these much needed improvements to our wonderful park.
Please see photos of the current paths which need immediate repair. Please support us and most importantly, share this page.
