RETHINK the Proposed 66 Third Street Shelter
Donation protected
We love our neighbourhood and are committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive community for everyone. While we strongly believe in providing safe, supportive housing for those in need, the recent decision to place an 80-person shelter in a small parking lot on a small residential street, adjacent to supportive seniors housing complex, and within 300 meters of two elementary schools, raises serious concerns. It’s important that this decision involves more thoughtful planning and community input to ensure the best outcome for both shelter clients and local residents.
So far, all outreach and advocacy efforts have been powered by amazing local volunteers who have worked tirelessly to raise awareness and engage with the community. However, to move forward effectively, we now need professional expertise to help us navigate this complex issue.
Your generous contributions will help cover essential costs, including legal services, research, printing, and website hosting. These resources are critical to ensure we can work with local representatives, city officials, and experts to explore all possible solutions and advocate for a plan that balances the needs of vulnerable populations with the well-being of our neighbourhood.
Contributions of any kind, will be greatly appreciated as we work to create a solution that benefits everyone in our community.
Together, we are advocating for a vibrant, thriving South Etobicoke.
