Retired Army Ranger K9 Surgery Fund
Donation protected
Meet Nuke,
Nuke's not just any dog. He's an Army veteran, retired as a multi-purpose canine from the 1/75th Ranger Battalion in Savannah, Georgia. He is specially trained in explosives and apprehension. Nuke served our country proudly with deployments to both Afghanistan & Iraq, with many confirmed bites against insurgents.
I was Nukes handler for 4 years and 3 deployments. I got out of the military in 2011 but Nuke wasn't done serving his time yet. He had a couple more deployments to get under his belt before he was medically retired in 2013. My family and I were given the privilege to adopt Nuke when he retired and without hesitation he's been a huge part of our family ever since.
Now, Nuke is no spring chicken. There were some discrepancies with his paperwork determining his DOB. One document said September 11, 2001 and another September 11, 2004... Wow, a 09/11/01 birthday who just happened to become a combat assault dog? No way! We're pretty sure it has to be 2004 considering Nuke has already surpassed the expected life span for military working dogs.
Last Friday I took him to the vet to get checked for an ear infection and came home with totally unrelated news that he has a malignant tumor under his armpit that needs to be removed "ASAP" I guess these are common tumors, but nasty ones. Ones that spread quickly and often return resulting in multiple surgeries. We want to give Nuke the best for as long as his body allows it. His surgery is scheduled for this Friday, October 14th.

We are asking for help to cover the cost of surgery and ongoing medication. Your help with this is a gift to Nuke...a favor returned. He means the world to myself and my family and we're not going down without a fight! It doesn't matter the donation amount because every penny counts!
Thank you everyone in advance who is willing to help Nuke, we will owe it ALL to those that gave!
