Retired SRO K-9

Hello everyone! My name is Officer Samantha Hodgson with the Bryant Police Department in Bryant, Arkansas. My co-worker's K-9, Mya, was recently retired due to medical issues. Mya served the Bryant Police Department and Bryant Public Schools from 2018-2022. She was stationed at Bryant High School, where she helped make the campus safer due to her training in narcotics. K-9 Mya lives with her handler Officer Chad Winkler. The medical issue is with her ACL, so she will need a replacement surgery in order to be comfortable. If you could please help with reaching our goal, K-9 Mya can retire in comfort with the Winkler family. All donations will go toward her surgery and recovery. Mya's vet is Matthew Field DVM with Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialists. In October 2022, her handler brought her to see Dr. Field because of limping in her right hind leg. She was diagnosed with a right CrCL (cranial cruciate ligament) tear, similar to an ACL tear in humans, which has an excellent prognosis following TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) stabilization surgery.
