Reuben’s Road to Recovery after suffering a Stroke
Donation protected
Hello, we are fundraising for our two year old son Reuben Mather who is currently in Birmingham Children’s Hospital after suffering a stroke on the 1st May 2024. Reuben suffered a stroke in the left side of the brain which has left him with very limited mobility with his right arm and right leg. Reuben has also lost the ability to speak however he is showing some promising signs already that he may get some sounds back but he will have to learn to talk again.
Reuben is a huge footballer and we are season ticket holders at Derby County. For something to be taken away from a little boy who is at the very start of his life is very difficult to see. We are desperate to help him as any parents would be and our aim is to get him to the first game of the season in August 2024 in some capacity.
We are raising funds to help with the transition from hospital to home. The money will be spent on Physiotherapy, Speech Therapists and helping with Reuben’s needs at home such things like a stairlift, wheelchair and other things we may need in the future. Anything that isn’t spent on Reuben will be given to a Stroke charity.
