Reunion Farms: Black to the Future
Donation protected
What could be more powerful than reclaiming a former plantation in the same parish where your ancestors worked, lived, hustled, and paved the way? How impactful would it be to revitalize those spaces with organic food and cultural experiences to honor those very ancestors? Paying homage to the past while cementing a strong future for generations to come, Reunion Farms is asking for your helping hand.
Reunion Farms will act as a 1.1 acre, Black/African owned and operated estate/farm in Central Louisiana. We aim to open with a socially distant soft launch in December.
Reunion will be used as a multipurpose farm space, venue rental and safe and culturally inclusive hub for people from across the globe to bond, create, relax, learn and participate in the reunion of love.
Reunion features 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and nearly 4,100 square feet of interior living space and an 800 square feet multipurpose center adjacent to the main house. The property was built in the 1850s, is a Greek Revival estate and is on the National Registry of Historic Places.
We are asking for your help to complete the final purchase of the grounds and to upstart our farming, food and hospitality aspirations. Born in big cities in the Mid West and West Coast, we have spent the last decade in the Deep South, discovering our southern roots and our ties to the land thousands of our ancestors called Home. This is a dream project for our family and would be the ultimate family RE-UNION.
What to expect at Reunion
*Love, Libations, Laughter
*High-end Hospitality
*Tranquility and Space To Explore
*Family Cookouts and Reunions
*The Comforts of Home While Away
*Historic Tours
*Hammocks, , Homemade Food, Happy Times
