Reunite Family that Faces Terminal Illness

My name is Amber Torres and I am raising funds in order to reunite family members who are abroad during this hard time of facing a terminal illness. My mother-in-law, Luz Torres, was diagnosed about 6 weeks ago with melanoma in her nasal cavity. However, in the short time of 6 weeks we have learned that the cancer has progressed beyond imagination in the maxillary sinus cavity, lymph nodes and the lungs. She finds herself in Stage IV, which is terminal, with possibly a limited amount of time left to spend with family.

Her son, my brother-in-law, Nahum and his family are currently in Argentina. He has not seen his mom in person for the past five years and even then it was for a minimal amount of time. My mother-in-law and father-in-law moved to the US a little over twenty years ago as missionaries, to serve the Hispanic community in Alabama and have done so faithfully since they arrived. This came with sacrifices, leaving grown children and their grandchildren behind.

As a family, we are going to apply for a Humanitarian visa for Nahum and his family, which comes at the cost of $545 per family member, plus the cost of airfare for the family to make the trip to be reunited with their mom/mother-in-law/grandmother.

My mother-in-law is such a light, just as her name translates. She has poured so much love, hard work and prayer into her family. It is our wish that she is surrounded by the ones who love her most as she faces this fight with cancer and prepares to meet our Lord that she loves so much.
