Reunite Juan with his wife and kids!
Donation protected
Juan is a 53-year old husband and father. He is from rural, indigenous Guatemala. In 2018, after a severe attempt on his life, he fled to the United States. Ever since then, he has been separated from his wife and children.
Juan now has the right to bring his wife and five children to join him in the U.S. In order to reunite, his wife and children each need to first undergo a thorough medical exam and a full regimen of vaccines in Guatemala. These exams and vaccines are mandatory and cost hundreds of dollars.
Helping Juan bear the cost of these exams and vaccines would help his family immensely. I'm running the New York City Marathon this Sunday, November 5th, and I'm dedicating my run to Juan.
Juan grew up in rural agriculture, but he now works in construction in New York City. He has no family in the U.S., he rents his own small room in the Bronx. Despite the challenges in his life, Juan is unfailingly optimistic and cheerful. He answers my calls the same way every time, with a joyous "Mi licenciado!" Whenever we meet, he insists on buying me a Coca Cola. He likes talking about about his children's studies and his latest videocalls with them.
Let's help reunite Juan with his wife and kids! Any money donated will be used for the medical examination and vaccination fees for Juan's family. Anything at all would help, seriously. We're grateful if you can share his story too. Thanks for considering!
