Reuniting Family: Global Adoption

Donation protected
Imagine living in a country with no access to sufficient health care and losing not just one, but both of your parents. That is the reality of siblings Lawrence(16 years old) and Brenda (12 years old) who reside in Liberia, West Africa.

In 2012, their mother (my sister-in-law), Magaret lost her battle to breast cancer. After the loss of their mother, their care was solely on their father Papi (my brother) who took care of them for the next two years.

Just two years later in 2014, there was an Ebola outbreak in Liberia that took hundreds of lives. Papi served on one of the many relief teams in the country. He was tasked with transporting infected individuals to various locations. In October 2014, we received a call from Liberia informing that Papi was exposed to Ebola and succumbed to the disease. With the passing of their dad, the kids spent time in isolation to insure they had not been exposed to the virus. Once cleared, their aunt became their caregiver.

Prior to their mom passing away, she asked me to take care of the children. After the passing of my brother, I began the process to adopt both my niece and nephew.  However, I have been unable to bring them to the United States to live with me and provide them with the care and nurturing they need. The process, honestly, has been a painful whirlwind and very costly especially with this being an international adoption, there are alot of legal proceses involved.

The reason for me starting a Go Fund me page is to solicit donations to help me cover the fees involved with an international adoption. I have come to realize that doing this solely on my own has prolonged the process due to financial expenses involved with an international adoption. Please consider donating and help share our story.

A little about myself. My name is Nenplenseh Wahkeleh, and I'm the aunt of these beautiful children. I was born in Monrovia, Liberia however, I was raised in the United States. I currently reside in the Sunshine State AKA Florida. I have set up this campaign to assist with fees related to the children's adoption. All received funds will be sent to  Adoptions Plus Adoption Agency, United States Immigration Services,  or Heart of Adoptions. These are the entities overseeing this international adoption. Point of contact for the adoption agency is listed below. Please read updates to track the progress!

May God bless you!

P.S. - Adoptions Plus is the Hague Accredited Agency overseeing our adoption via Americans for African Adoptions. Catherine Troy is agency's director (505) [phone redacted]. Please feel free to confirm the legitimacy of our adoption process with Catherine. The site below has a fee schedule break down and additional information.
