Save my family in Gaza and reunite my children

Update: the fundraising goal has increased slightly to account for US taxes incurred.

My name is Khadija Ramlawi and I am asking you to help save my family. My husband and my children (Maria, 6 and Hasan 3) are stuck in Gaza and are on the brink of starvation from the war. My family may die any minute (God protect them all).

Through all of this, I gave birth to my little angel baby Sanad in December ‘23, who until this moment hadn't met any of his family members. My heart is shattered to pieces with my children Maria and Hassan in the middle of the war and Sanad here in the US alone.

I am currently in California in the Bay Area on a prestigious scholarship given by the International Institute of Education (IIE) this past summer before the start of the conflict. Alhamdulillah, I gave birth to a baby boy, Sanad, one month ago. Since he is American, the United States government is assisting my family to get out of Gaza.

However, there are considerable financial expenses that are out of my reach. These include transportation, medical fees, legal fees, and resettlement expenses for our family.

I want my family in Gaza to join me. I, Khadija Ramlawai, your Palestinian sister, am asking for your help out of dire and extreme need.

I dreamed of being a part of Tech Women, I worked hard and spent many hours preparing the application and passing the interviews. The opportunity was for women leaders in STEM and I was able to represent Palestine this year after being selected from over 3,100 applications. Although I was six months pregnant, I felt that this dream opportunity could not be wasted.

I was thrilled to be accepted into this five-week program back in September and as I hugged my six-year-old and three-year-old, I promised them I would be back soon. This was five months ago, but unfortunately, the war broke out during my participation in the program making it impossible to go back home. I lost my dear brother, my cousins, and many other innocent relatives who were massacred. My mom and brother lost their house, and assets forcing my kids and family to be displaced several times. My kids and family are facing starvation, hardly finding anything to eat or to drink! Most days there is no way to communicate with them after the internet access was lost and with recurrent communication blocked out. Sometimes I can’t hear my kids’ voices for days or weeks and I can't make sure they are ok.
