Reusable period kits for 26 Letters by Wing Woman
Donation protected
Today in Lebanon, a country in the midst of the one of the worst economic collapses in the world, the average cost of menstrual supplies has skyrocketed to as high as $22.00 for a pack of sanitary napkins. As a result, over 75% of women and girls in Lebanon are struggling to access menstrual products.
"Period poverty is a lack of access to menstrual products, education, hygiene facilities, waste management, or a combination of these. It affects an estimated 500 million people worldwide.
The above information is from a study that BMC Women’s Health Trusted Source published in 2021.
People who experience period poverty are unable to purchase the menstrual products they need, and, in many cases, this means that they cannot go to school or work or otherwise participate in daily life.
Period poverty causes physical, mental, and emotional challenges. It can make people feel shame for menstruating, and the stigma surrounding periods prevents individuals from talking about it." Period Poverty defined in Medical News Today
*Period poverty can lead to mental and physical health issues and contributes to the increasing unemployment of women and reduced school attendance.

I am fundraising for 1000 reusable period kits for the women and girls supported by 26 Letters School . A donation of $20.00 will purchase 1 period kit that includes: 8 reusable pads, a bar of soap, and a pouch made by the women at Wing Woman Lebanon . Wing Woman Lebanon is a charity that provides socio-economic opportunities for women from vulnerable communities in Lebanon. We hope to raise $20,000 to be able to distribute a period kit to every woman and girl at 26 Letters.
