Rev. Paul Lee, a dedicated husband and father

My name is Robert Lee, and I am fundraising in honor of my cousin, Paul Lee, who recently lost his battle against a rare form of salivary gland cancer.

For the past 36 years, Paul devoted his entire life and career to serving children and families and helping build a strong community. As a dedicated church minister, Paul served the Presbyterian New Life Church and the Korean Love Church in San Diego. Most recently, Paul was a youth pastor at the Presbyterian Marietta Church in Georgia.

In 2018, Paul was diagnosed with salivary gland cancer, a rare form of cancer that forms in the tissues of the gland in the mouth that produces saliva. Paul underwent surgery in 2018 to remove the tumor, but cancer reappeared in 2019. As the pandemic started in 2020, Paul progressed through 6 treatments of chemotherapy and 15 treatments of radiation therapy. As COVID raged on, Paul began an alternative medicine option in 2021 and continued this treatment for 6 months.

During Paul's 4 year battle with cancer, he never lost his faith, nor did he quit his work with the community. Despite his suffering and pain, Paul showed up every day, often with a warm smile, and constantly stayed positive--cheering people on and supporting them however he could. That was Paul's way - he always went the extra mile - putting other people's needs before his own, and was the first to raise his hand to volunteer.

Paul's youngest son, Andrew, recalls that no matter how bad he felt, his Dad was always very cheerful and bright. Every time he came home, he would always have a big smile and announce to the house that he was home and there for them - immediately jumping in to help out any way he could.

On September 26th, Paul lost his battle against cancer. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Inae Lee of 27 years, who also serves the community by caring for the elderly. Paul's eldest son, Daniel, just started work as a chef, and David is working at a grocery store. His youngest sons, Timothy and Andrew, both started college this fall.

As you might imagine, the Lee family is grieving the loss of their father and realizing the financial impacts. We are raising funds to support hospital, funeral, and memorial costs and to help Paul's family get back on their feet.
