Exposing DEI Trainings at Rochester Schools
Donation protected
Parents at Rochester Community Schools have been experiencing a significant and coordinated lack of transparency from the school administration.
Over the past several months, we have seen troubling content come out of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion department. For example, in training, teachers were shown a “white supremacy pyramid” which seemed to suggest that an idea like, “we all belong to the human race” is a foundational, racist principle that leads on a path towards something like Neo-Nazis and lynching. In all three high school Social Justice Clubs, kids read a book that promoted racial essentialism and radical political activists like the Black Panther Party.
I sent a public records request to find out what has been going on in DEI trainings from the past couple of school years. These trainings are important to understand, because not only can they affect our teachers unfairly, but they can also influence what our kids are taught.
“...I request access to all Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training materials (including materials related to Implicit Bias, Social Justice, Cultural Proficiency, Culturally Responsive Teaching) for the 2020/21, 2021/22, and any newly added materials in the coming school year......”
To produce these records, they are charging $826.90! Will you help me raise funds? When I uncover the information, I will freely share it with the public. We owe it to our kids and teachers to know what is going on, and RCS certainly owes us this information!
