Help Rev. Ed Make Wisdom Stoves
Tax deductible
Not much food and no fuel to cook the food. Families in rural Zimbabwe face significant challenges with the simple necessities of life. Virtually all cooking is done outside over an open fire.
Wisdom Stoves are simple stoves that let rural families continue to cook outside, as they have always done, but use up to 90% less fuel. And the fuel can continue to be firewood, but it can also be corn husks, cow dung, coffee husks or other dried biomass.
Objective: train youth and young adults to make stoves which use less fire wood by almost 90%. These stoves produce less carbon dioxide (health friendly), use 10% of firewood (environmental friendly) and cheaper as compared with conventional energy (economic friendly). Your donation will help raise $10,000 to make 100 stoves and distribute them freely to the most vulnerable people (widows, orphans and child headed families, old people, HIV/AIDS infected and affected people). The second phase would be to make stoves for sale at half the $50 cost.
Your donation will go to a 501(c)3 charity (Wisdom Stoves in Vermont) who will manage the funds for Zimbabwe.
