Revitalize Our Co-op

Donation protected
The New Orleans Food Co-op is Louisiana's only cooperatively-owned grocery store and we need your help! After 9 years of organizing, we opened our grocery store in October of 2011 and we are now in our 13th year of operation. Unfortunately, we are at risk of closing and need your support so we can continue to serve our community for many years to come.

The NOFC is a valuable community resource and an important alternative to corporate chains and big box grocery stores. We are proud to support dozens of local farmers and producers. We practice sustainability by featuring many items in bulk and by composting all of our food waste. We have also joined National Co+op Grocers, a co-op of over 160 food co-ops from around the country. This allows us to pool our buying power and now offer many organic brands at competitive prices. We are committed to making healthy food more accessible, and we now offer Market Match, which allows us to offer our produce at a 50% discount for those who receive SNAP benefits.

With the funds we raise we will be able to replace our aging refrigeration equipment. We will be installing new signage on St. Claude Avenue, which will increase our visibility. We will be investing in growing our inventory. We will also use the funds for working capital while we enact our plan to grow sales and reach financial sustainability. We have exciting plans for our future and we know we can get there with your support.
