I want to take a moment to share an update about Avenues Café, a cherished space in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia. Since we opened our doors three years ago, we have experienced incredible growth and community support. However, we currently find ourselves navigating a rough patch. Due to recent construction in our community, we faced a significant loss of revenue, which has led to difficulties with backpay on utilities. This situation has put us in a position where we are struggling to keep our doors open and due to this PECO has turned off our services. Despite these challenges, we remain committed to overcoming them and continuing to serve our vibrant community. We are actively working to resolve these financial issues and explore solutions that will allow us to move forward. Our dedication to creating a space for community conversations and cultural connections is unwavering, and we are reaching out for your help. We invite you to join us in this effort to support Avenues Café and contribute to our next phase of growth. Your assistance can make a significant difference as we strive to maintain our café as a home for creativity, connection, and support for local artists and organizations.
