Revival Food & Mood Brighton Marathon Fund Raiser
Donation protected
Charles Sait, Dan Foulser, Jade Hallett, Millie Sait, and Patsy Beck will be running Brighton Marathon in April 2024 to support 'Revival Food & Mood', a social enterprise Cafe and Wellness hub in the heart of Whitstable.
We are also running in memory of Antony ‘Wol’ Sait.
On 21st February 2011 our whole world turned upside down. Wol was so much to so many people.
We lost a loving father, brother, husband, son, friend, and godfather.
Losing someone to suicide is devastating, but losing you we will never forget.
We are doing this to try and prevent a similar situation effecting the lives of others in our community, and we believe Revival can help make this happen.
This is for you, dad.
"Revival strives to support our community with free, accessible mental health support and information in a calm, inclusive and inviting surroundings with great food & music. We believe good food and services have the power to enhance our communities and transform our everyday lives
The vision for Revival evolved over many years and was devised in response to often ‘old-fashioned’ ideas and expectations of mental health spaces and approaches. Revival needed to be different. Revival, Food & Mood was set up as a self-funded social enterprise by Mind in Bexley and East Kent, we have survived covid, an eviction and are now proudly back on the High Street. This new location means that we are an accessible space where people can pop in for a coffee or lunch whilst they are out shopping and where mental health is part of the conversation, the decor and the ethos. We are able to signpost people to local support, our own peer support groups and we have regular wellbeing initiatives and campaigns. We have just proudly launched the Mental Health Bank, our response to the mental health crisis we, as a society are facing, harnessing the goodwill of local wellbeing practitioners who are gifting their time, we are able to offer free lifestyle, alternative and complementary therapies every Monday evening in Revival. We hope that this will help plug the gap between support needs and statutory services, support those in recovery and provide access to holistic mental wellbeing support for those who may not ordinarily access them whether it is for financial, mental health (anxiety), or any other reason. Music has played a big part in our origin story and we truly believe 'Music is Medicine for the Mind' you will always find our vinyl spinning in the cafe and we have regular vinyl enthusiasts, many with lived mental health experience, donating their time to come in and DJ on our decks for our weekend vinyl sessions. Revival is a hub of mental wellbeing and a beacon of hope on the High Street."
