Revive the Santa Cruz Paddlefest: Donate Now

The Santa Cruz Paddlefest (SCPF) was run for 33 years straight, through 2019. The COVID 19 pandemic and a number of other factors have prevented the event from running since. The event is now in the hands of Bryon Dorr and he, along with other passionate SCPF volunteers like Julie Mitravich, are working hard to bring the event back to its former glory and run the 34th annual event on March 28-30, 2025. Preliminary permits have been secured from the city and the necessary water safety team is on board to support the event. The 2025 event is planned to be a surf event only, meaning there will be no race, something the event hopes to bring back in the near future.
The SCPF is all about the paddle surf community (surf kayak, waveski, SUP, etc...) coming together at one of the most iconic waves on the planet, Steamer Lane. Because of this wave's location in the city of Santa Cruz, CA, the event is expensive to run. The expenses can't be covered with just competitor entry fees.
Please consider donating to help bring the paddle surf community together this coming March in Santa Cruz. This very special event needs a second life. Crowdfunding here, along with sponsorship efforts, before the end of 2024 will determine if the event happens in 2025. If enough funding is secured to move forward, competitor registration will open early in 2025 (the same time it traditionally has opened).
Thank you for considering supporting this grass-roots and iconic event. If you have any questions and/or sponsorship leads please reach out.
We'll keep you up to date here, but you can also check out SantaCruzPaddlefest.com for all the latest happenings with the event as well.
