ReWilding the jungle of Guatemaya!

Donation protected
In the lush heart of Guatemala lies the breathtaking region of Semuc Champey, where the vibrant jungle once thrived in harmony with the Indigenous communities of this land. However, in recent years, the relentless impacts of climate change have cast a dark shadow over this paradise.
Families who once relied on the land for sustenance now face the harsh reality of burned fields and desiccated soil. Traditional farming practices, passed down through generations, are being eroded by the pressures of big corporations, as agrochemical industries exploit the vulnerability of these communities, peddling their pesticides as a solution to nature's woes, urging the people to abandon their traditional, sustainable practices.
But amidst the turmoil, there is hope. We believe in the power of restoration, in the resilience of both nature and humanity. By coming together and supporting the rewilding efforts of this sacred land, we can reclaim what has been lost. Your donation will provide vital resources to help communities regrow their crops, revitalize their land, and preserve their cultural heritage.
Beyond mere survival, rewilding holds the key to a brighter future for all. By fostering biodiversity and protecting vital ecosystems, we not only safeguard the livelihoods of local communities but also ensure the health and well-being of our planet as a whole.
Join us in this noble cause. Together, let's sow the seeds of change, nurture them with compassion, and watch as they flourish into a greener, more sustainable tomorrow. Our actions today will reverberate for generations to come. Let's make them count.

How will the money be used?

We will use the donations to buy cacao trees from local farmers. Those trees are native to this land which ensure the continuity of the Indigenous specie of cacao on the land. These are high quality pure criollo trees and are known to be more resistant and of higher quality. Each tree cost 3$. Every donation counts and will make a big impact in the world.

Why is it important?
We live in a world of interconnectivity and jungle ecosystems are primordial for the survival of our specie as they hold a biodiverse ecosystem that promotes habitat for the living beings of our world. By taking care of those ecosystems, we are ensuring the proliferation of biodiversity.

What does this mean for the communities of those lands?
Mayan communities of Lanquin have been cultivating artesenal cacao for thousands of years. Your help will not only increase the biodiversity of the land and ensure viability but also ensure the economical benefits for those communities that rely on agriculture to live. Your help will make those families happy. When the soil is healthy, more food can grow and those communities rely on sustenance agriculture for their survivals. Each donation makes a child thrives!!

Why cacao trees?
Not only do cacao trees have an important historical, spiritual and cultural significance for the Mayan communities of those lands, this plant is primordial in the ecosystem of the jungle. In an agroecological and regenerative perspective, those trees would absorb more carbon dioxide in the air, help retain water with their deep roots systems and create shade essential for keeping moisture of the soil and multiply biodiversity and create life for living beings. All our actions are deeply rooted in the ethics of agroecology and respect for the culture and the land.

What is our goal?
Our goal is to plant 4000 trees as a first setted goal, which would cost 12000$

What is our deadline?
We are aiming to plant around October 2024 as the winter will be coming soon and this will give the opportunity to the trees to root down and not freeze before winter.

What is our promise to you?
Our commitment to you as donors and promises is that we will keep you updated within every steps we take towards the accomplishment of our goal. We commit to never give up before we attain the 4000 trees planted and we will definetly send you pictures and videos of the trees among the year so you can see real time the impact of your contribution.

How can we further help?
If you are an organization or funders that work towards regeneration and reforestation we would be happy to collaborate with you as we believe in the power of community. You can also buy the cacao paste from the farmers directly on our website www.heart-to-earth.com/product/cacao-2/
We are comitting to give 20$ every kg sold.
