Rey Acosta Medical & Memorial Fund
Donation protected
I've created this GoFundMe page for Paul (my boyfriend)'s family. Rey and Lou (Paul's Dad and Mom) are from the Philippines. Their family moved to the United States/California with the goal of providing the kids with a better life and future. The majority of their family still lives in the Philippines today.
They are one of the most loving families I've ever met and they could really use some help right now.
Paul's Dad, Rey, was diagnosed with cancer last May and was given a few months to live. The family decided to fight and begin chemotherapy, which has sustained his life for over a year. However, this past week his health has drastically declined and he has been hospitalized since Thursday (6/21/18) - his family decided that he will receive hospice from home beginning today (6/27/18). The family has completely exhausted their savings over the past year and really needs help with paying the remaining medical bills and fulfilling Rey's wish of being buried back home in the Philippines.
Below is a message from Rey's family:
"Rey has been battling stage 4 colon cancer since spring 2017. Due to multiple complications from his illness, he is losing the fight. Our only goal here is to take him back home to the Philippines so his family and friends can mourn him properly and celebrate his life. When he passes, we would like to arrange for his funeral and transportation via airplane to be buried near our grandparents. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as the cost to fly him back home will most likely take the entirety of this funding, if not all. We appreciate our family and friends who have sent their wishes and supported us during this difficult time. Thank you to anyone who reads this and donates.
Our sincere gratitude,
- Lou, Sheena, Ralph, and Paul Acosta"
