REZA A. ESFAHANIHA
Words cannot describe the character, integrity, and heart of this young man. All I can tell you is that he would take the shirt off his back, literally to help a stranger in need. Now it's our turn to give back.
The Year 2017 Reza celebrated his 32nd birthday. The previous year after saving enough money he bought his own condo, settled in his new place, happy that he was beginning to live the American dream. On March 7, 2017 at age 32, all of this changed when he was diagnosed with a 4.8cm x5.1 cm tumor which turned out to be a hemangiopericytoma grade 3 (a very rare malignant brain cancer, less than 1% if all brain tumors). FYI, these brain tumors are very rare and represent less than 1% of all brain tumors. Of the less than 1%, only 10% are grade 3 and the average age of the patient is 50 years old. Reza was only 32 so his was the rarest of the rare! These tumors affect the blood vessels and soft tissue and easily spread throughout the body usually affecting metastasizing to the lungs or bones. Reza has endured a total of FIVE surgeries since May 2017. Three surgeries to remove tumors and two surgeries additional due to a brain infection. His last surgery was on Monday, April 8, 2019 to remove the latest tumor. Everyone who knows him will agree that he is a unique person who is wise beyond his years, a responsible, compassionate, and a considerate human being who loves his family so very much. He knows there is so much in life he still wants to do, and with his strong faith, and the strong support of family and friends, he is determined to beat this!! If you can, and it’s in your heart to donate, Reza and his family will be forever grateful. The donations will go toward the expensive treatments not covered by his insurance and his living expenses since he has used up all his savings and sick leave from work. If enough is donated he is considering going to CHIPSA Hospital specializing in Gerson and Immunotherapy. The basic price he was quoted for a 3 week stay was $56,000 which does not include individualized treatments specfic to his needs. We are hopeful that the donations will help him get through this until he can get back on his feet and return to work. Your support and prayers would mean so much to him, and although he may not be able to thank everyone, we appreciate every single donation large or small. Thank you for taking the time to read Reza’s story. Please share/post to spread his story.
Thank you!
