Update: We are closing this campaign. We attained our goals with your help. Please go to our current campaign, Saving The Rez Dogs, and donate. Our vet bills are the highest they have ever been because we are rescuing puppies and dogs at an ever higher rate than in the past.
Almost every single day we rescue dogs in need of medical attention. Some days it is mange and malnutrition...some days it is life and death stabilizing for transport...or babes in just plain bad shape.
LightShine Canine rescues and relocates over 125 dogs a month...and this comes at a cost. Many of these dogs and puppies are in need of immediate medical care and we feel blessed every single month that we can keep doing this...that you are there for us and for the dogs.
With a Reservation the size of Rhode Island and dogs coming to us from every corner we count on our main Veterinary Clinic...Fall River in Hot Springs literally on a daily basis...but other clinics just off the Rez have stepped in for emergencies when we can't get the dogs to Hot Springs.
Small town Vet clinics can't carry us for long and when they can't do that...well it becomes a really big deal. Please help us pay off our Vet bills so we can keep helping dogs get stabilized and cared for before being transported to other Rescues.
We need to pay Fall River Vet an additional $2500....Butler Vet in Valentine, Nebraska helped save a mama Pittie and pups plus othera and we owe them $500...multiple saves through High Plains Vet in Gordon Nebraska has us owing them $1100. And lesser amounts to two other Nebraska clinics.
Yes...the Rescues we transport the dogs to are the main reason you see such amazing before and after pictures on our Facebook page...LightShine Canine: A Rez Dog Rescue....but they have to get the dogs into their care for that to happen...and we must get dogs that first round of life-saving care.
Please help. We need you...and the dogs need us.
