Support Joy: Rebuild After a Devastating Fire

Hello everyone,

Our names are Abbie and Brady, and we are reaching out to share the story of a dear friend and Abbie's fellow UNT Learning Technologies PhD cohort member, Joy. On the Saturday before her PhD program began, Joy and her beautiful family lost everything in a devastating fire here in Denton, Texas.

Joy, an international student from Nigeria, came here to pursue her dreams. She has navigated the demands of academic life with grace and kindness, all while caring for her family. Now, instead of beginning an exciting new chapter, she’s facing the challenge of rebuilding her life from scratch.

Joy’s resilience has always been a source of inspiration to those around her, but now she needs the support of her community more than ever. The funds raised will go directly to helping Joy and her family rebuild their lives, covering essential expenses such as furniture, clothing, and replacing basic necessities.
