Baby Pearl
Donation protected
Pearl was born on April 2nd at 1:21am at 7 pounds 3 ounces and 20 inches long. She had some difficulties breathing shortly after birth and was rushed to the NICU. Less than 12 hours later she was flown to Sutter Hospital in Sacramento. Pearl has Pierre Robin Sequence which means she does not have a hard or a soft palate. Babies born with Pierre Robin Sequence have challenges with both breathing and feeding, hence the need for close monitoring in the NICU. She is otherwise a very strong, healthy, and adorable baby girl.
Pearl will most likely need to stay at Sutter for a few more weeks as the doctors and nurses work with her to feed from a special bottle and establish that she can continue to make weight gains. She has a tough first year ahead of her as the doctors and her parents figure out the best corrective plan for her.
We know that she is receiving the best possible care and could not have chosen more loving and supportive parents. Sarah and Grayson are tired, but holding up well.
Any donation is appreciated and will allow Grayson and Sarah the ability to spend time with their new baby and not worry about the bills they are incurring. Donations will help offset medical costs as well as the cost of food, transportation, hotel, and future corrective surgeries.
Please keep Sarah, Grayson, and Pearl in your thoughts and prayers. We will keep you all updated on baby Pearl’s progress in the upcoming weeks.
