Puerto Rico Mission Trip

On Sept. 20, 2017 the deadliest storm in over 100 years slammed into the islands of Puerto Rico. A year later, many residents of PR are still living in uninhabitable conditions. Now, more than ever, their livelihoods are at risk, threatened by the disastrous aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

Travelex is working to change this with your help. 

Team Travelex will be volunteering time and resources to a town in Puerto Rico of which you probably have never heard. Bartolo is a rural mountain community of about 7,000 people, in the central west region of Puerto Rico. A third of this population are peasants and farmers, frequently unemployed, with no stable means of sustainability.
 
The Travelex Team will be in Puerto Rico this January 9th through January 13th.  The group will spend 2 full days in Bartolo helping the community with the following needs.

·  Painting of temporary housing apartments to safely shelter families who have lost their homes.

·  Clean and restore community areas intended for the local café and cinema room, school or arts, and sports facility.

Help us reach our goal of $20,000. Your donation will go toward purchasing the work supplies needed for our community service project, along with local business gift cards to provide families in need of daily staples – helping, both, the residents and the local economy.
