Leorissa (Leo) Fortuno's Fund
As many of you now know, on Thursday, August 13. the world became aware of the loss of one of its most vibrant members, Leorissa ("Leo" to friends) Fortuno. Leo ("Leissa" to many), was a lively, beautiful person who's bubbly personality is legendary.
Leo was not yet 31, and was already making changes in this world by dedicating her life to helping others through nursing. Her irrepressible spirit is remembered by many, as even in dark times, Leo was capable of putting a smile on anybody's face. She had an enormous heart and dearly loved her family, her friends, the patients she worked so hard to treat, and her dear dog Zoey.
The loss of Leo has been completely unexpected and devastating to the Fortuno family. As she was so young, the family was in no way prepared for the emotional and financial toll this event has had and will have on them. After much prodding, I have convinced Leo's younger sister Kris to accept financial help from the many people I know would like to be able to assist the family in their time of need. No one is entirely certain at this point how much money the family will need to be able to lay Leo to rest in a way befitting such an amazing person, but I wanted to get started as quickly as possible to help offset the mounting expenses.

I realize that in the face of loss, many people want to know how they can help and are distraught when they feel they can't. This is a way you can truly help the Fortuno family through this situation. Even if you are only able to give a dollar or two, any donation is greatly appreciated. I think this is a practical way to be able to show just how many people have been touched by Leo and her family and honor Leo's memory. Please help if you can. God bless.
(I am Rebecca Tompkins, a friend of the family for a little over a decade. I created this account with the support of Leorissa's sister, Kris. All money received goes directly to the Fortuno family. Any questions about the fund can be directed to me through this page. Any questions about Leo can be directed to her family, but please bear in mind the overwhelming amount of stress the family is going through at the moment. Information about Leo's memorial service and the like will be circulated once it's available)
