Rhian was making dinner for her and her husband when the propane tank blew up on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Her husband, Daniel, got her and the animals out but their house was destroyed as well as most of their belongings.
Rhian suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 50% of her body, including her face, neck, arms, and legs. Luckily her torso was free of damage. Daniel works but is having to take time off to be with Rhian in the burn ward in Houston. There is no estimate of release.
There was no insurance on their home or medical insurance on Rhian. They are in need of help. Rhian will need help with the medical bills and a start for a new home. They need clothes and other essential items.
I was informed that medical costs for burn treatments range from $50k to over $200k depending on the time and severity. The funds would be needed ongoing at this time to help Daniel stay near the hospital to be with her as he is not allowed to stay in her room at night. Funds will be provided to Rhian and Daniel to aid in her long recovery
and the recovery of their home.
