Rhodes Family Robbed By Moving Scam

This month the Rhodes Family relocated to Tampa, FL for Marissa’s new job. Unfortunately they fell victim to scammers posing as a moving company. In actuality, these scammers charged them $7k for “arranging” their move. They then contracted out the move to a sub-par company called Regions Relocation which charged them an additional $9k and still have most of their belongings. It has been three weeks and neither company is answering their phones or emails. A few days ago, Regions arrived (after claiming they would arrive for 5 days straight) with less than half of their belongings. They attempted to trick the Rhodeses into paying them even more money, holding the rest of their belongings hostage. Almost all of the belongings they did receive (after paying nearly $14k this far) were damaged and destroyed. It’s unclear what the family will get back and what condition it will be in. The family has no beds or tables and few clothes to help them transition to their new life in Florida. They plan to pursue a lawsuit with these two fraudulent companies.
