Rhonda Irwin's Car Accident

On March 19, 2024 at approximately 4:50 pm, Rhonda was involved in a very serious car accident which totaled her car. She was immediately put on an Air Evac flight to the hospital in Nashville. She suffered with a shattered right tibia, broken ribs, a torn ligament in her neck, a severe contusion on the front of her skull, along with many bruises. As of now, she has had surgery to insert a rod in her leg which is causing severe pain so she must wear a boot for the next few weeks to months. Her ribs are wrapped, and she is still in a neck brace for an indefinite amount of time. She has also had facial reconstruction surgery for the skull contusion which seems to be healing slowly but surely. She cannot get up and move around without help or without the aid of a walker.

She has a long fight ahead of her but with our help, she should be able to make a full recovery. She will be out of work with no income for at least two months, along with the added expenses of special medications, hospital bills, additional follow ups visits with doctors and the trauma team.

Rhonda has never been one to sit still, so as you can imagine, this is taking a toll on her. She has spent the last 20+ years of her life helping every animal in need that she happens to run across, either through taking them in or working with rescues to re-home or rehabilitate. Our local community has benefited a great deal with all that she has done over the years.
