My son Heath and I celebrate birthdays this week and my birthday wish is to rally you – friends and change makers – around a big initiative to address the urgent climate crisis we face. It’s for young adults and our kids who will have to face an uncertain future – either with our help, or alone.
The pandemic reveals our vulnerabilities when we don’t appropriately plan. The chaos and human need with millions unemployed highlights the issues of poverty and homelessness that will only be made larger because of climate change. Communities of color will be the hardest hit, creating greater divisions and inequities in our societies.
It's time to act. Together, we can co-create the change we need to see.
I’m asking you to offer up a gift of seed funding through this “B-Earth day” campaign to fund the platform that will be used to launch a nationwide Giving Day to support environmental initiatives, educate our communities, and create an “all in” effort to move toward solutions.
The first $7,500 will be used to engage the company with a proven platform ready to go. Additional dollars on top of that will be enlisted to pay for early needs in implementing the idea while we work to enlist major businesses to step up as key champions for the big launch.
We will rally businesses, nonprofits and individuals to create an ecosystem of change - a societal shift that will touch our consumer habits and policy moves.
