Rhonda's Homegoing Celebration

My hero Rhonda Renee Ford was born on August 5, 1964 in Gary,IN. She was the second youngest out of all of her mothers children. Even at a young age she exuded a charisma and light-hardheartedness towards the world that was unscathed throughout her entire life. She had one of the brightest smiles in the room and was known for being one of the most compassionate souls GOD ever blew breath into.
My mother attended Westside High School, where she graduated in the top ten of her class. She was voted the Class President of the graduating class of 1982. She then attended Indiana University Northwest and obtained three Bachelor Degree's throughout her life, one in Business Management, Spanish, and Health Administration.
My beautiful mother reached all of these achievements while simultaneously battling through the diagnosis of schizophrenia and Bi-Polar disorder at the age of 19. She battled this illness her entire life, and with the support of her family, along with her seemingly endless determination she lived a fulfilled life.
At the age of 28 she gave birth to her only son, and named me Walter Ford after my grandfather. One of his final wishes was to see his grandchild, he unfortunately passed away four months before I was born and so I received the name his honor. She was prescribed medication that was mandatory for her to take everyday. Once she was informed that she was pregnant she made the ultimate selfless choice of not taking her medication for the entire nine months of her pregnancy. Through her selflessness and her sacrifice she allowed me to prosper and live a life with countless opportunities.Although she spent a fraction of my life in medical institutions, every single day in my short 26 winters of living she showed me unwavering love, compassion, and mentorship. To me this was more priceless than all the worlds precious metals combined. This woman was and will always continue to be my hero.
She was beloved by her Mother Mamie Hughes, sisters Pat, Diane,Janice, Jeanette, and Iyesha also her brothers Vincent,Bruce,Nathaniel, and Maurice. As the beacon of hope for her family, she kept her relatives together with her joyful character and relentless drive.
Unfortunately through those trying years of Rhonda's illness
we did not have the opportunity to prepare properly her homegoing celebration. Due to the unexpected transitioning of her life I and my family are humbly asking Please assist us in funding Rhonda Ford's Homegoing Celebration. Rhonda left this Earth on April 25th,2019.
All proceeds are going towards funding Rhonda's Homegoing Celebration on Friday May, 3rd.
Service will be held at Williams Chapel Church of GOD in Christ
