Rho's Kidney Transplant

Hi, I'm Rho.

I'm a game developer with kidney disease. I started developing games as a teenager, producing my first game at 17, going on to work as an artist on Starbound and RimWorld.

When I was 26 I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease out of nowhere. I went to the doctor because I had a stomach ache and was told my kidneys were failing. I have IgA nephropathy, a genetic condition with no known cause or cure. My life turned upside down - I was given meds that bloated my face and made my hair fall out. My self image plummented. In 2018 I had to start dialysis. Thankfully it's the kind I can do at home but it still sucks, I have a giant port in my stomach that I have to hook up into a machine for 10 hours at a time. It wasn't so bad at first, but after 5 years it's getting really tiring.

My turn on the transplant list is coming up and I've been told that there'll be a lot of expenses not covered by insurance and the best way to cover it is by fundraising.

Please help me with this. I am desperate to return to my normal life and be able to do normal things like eat cheeseburgers and drink coke and go swimming and walk across the house without nearly collapsing. All costs will go towards paying for my transplant and related costs; transportation and accommodation for appointments; equipment and post-transplant meds; etc. Any excess will be donated to American Kidney Fund.
