Support for the Dowell Family
On July 24th my niece, Clara, had a tragic near-drowning accident. Clara is the youngest daughter of my brother, Matt and his wife, Tynan. She is “Baby Sis” to older brothers Clayton and Mason. Thanks to a quick response by family, the Hutchinson emergency services, and emergency department staff, Clara was able to be resuscitated and stabilized before being flown to Wesley in Wichita. She remains at Wesley in their pediatric ICU.
The outpouring of love, support, and prayers from their small-town community, family, friends, and even strangers has been overwhelming and a testament to their amazing family. Many have asked for a place to donate in order to ease any financial burden they may feel and make sure money is the last thing they think about. This is so appreciated and something Matt and Tynan would never ask for. To make that as simple as possible, I have created this page.
Matt and Tynan care deeply about their community and we know that is reciprocated. Please know your prayers for the family are more than enough but if you feel led to donate, here is the place to do it. All money collected will go directly to the family to offset medical expenses, as well as helping with travel and boarding in the days and months ahead. Anything the family doesn’t use will be donated to The Ronald McDonald House and Catholic Charities.
Clara is an incredible little girl. She continues to make steady progress but many hurdles remain on the road ahead. We believe with continued faith and support from those who love the Dowells, Clara can conquer anything.
