Rhythm Claps for Coach James
Donation protected
Clap. Clap. Clap. Slap. Slap. Slap.
If you are a member of Certus CrossFit, the rythhm clap is part of your daily pre-workout routine. Coach James Scharnick is a pillar of our CrossFit Community. As a father, coach, and friend, he has changed lives through fitness, faith, and friendship.
On June 19, 2023, James and a few friends were mountain biking in Big Bear California for Fathers Day weekend. The front wheel of James' bike hit a pile of sand and his front tire shifted and his body went headfirst into the dirt in front of him, crushing his spine.
Shortly after, James was airlifted to the nearby Loma Linda University Medical Center. During a laminectomy, the surgeon fused his spine at C3-C6. James has had some movement in his arms, but remains in a fragile state. He has an uphill battle in his journy to full recovery, which we fullheartedly believe is possible.
We are reaching out far and wide and asking for prayer. Our beloved James needs us to lift him up and pray for the ultimate healing and miracle. I ask for prayer from all CrossFit affiliates, as he is one of our own, and all followers of Jesus Christ. Together, we need to gather together for big prayers for this larger than life man.
In addition to prayer, we ask for any monetary contribution you feel led to contribute to help the Scharnick family as they navigate medical bills, travel expenses, lodging for his family to visit him in Loma Linda, and the overall costs that come from such a tradegy.
Thank you to Rich Froning and CrossFit Mayham for starting prayer on a massive level for James. Please share far and wide. The more prayers, the better.
