Rice Thai Cafe Pandemic Help Fund

My name is Kim Jiang. I am the current owner of Rice Thai Cafe. During the pandemic we have faced financial hardship and have not been able to secure any government or state aid. I run Rice Thai Cafe with two other employees' help. Running a small business is hard at times, but I like being able to offer the best food and service that I can and I love having regulars. I hope that we can stay in the Roger’s Park community in the future.
Since the start of the pandemic we have seen a significant increase in the cost of groceries from several suppliers (adding roughly one thousand dollars to our usual bill) in addition to a 70 percent drop in business. My co-workers and I agreed to cut our own wages to be able to continue providing take-out for these last few months. Three thousand dollars would help us afford the rising cost of supplies, continue to pay employee wages and cover part of the monthly rent for the restaurant building.
Rice Thai Cafe has been here in the Roger’s Park Area for ten years and I would like to be here when things go back to normal. Thank you for hearing our story. Stay safe and we hope to serve you in the future.
