Richard Baca to Elite Golf Tournament

Richard Baca is a lifelong New Mexican and a United States, veteran.

Baca served as a Navy Corpsman with both the United States Marines and the United States Army. He retired in 2019 as a Staff Sergeant, serving 5 tours overseas.

He served 3 tours in Iraq, 1 tour in Somalia and 1 tour in Panama.

Throughout his vast 28 year career, multiple awards have been presented to him, including: Combat Action, Jump Wings, Dive Bubble Navy Accomodadtion x 3, and Army Accomodation x 4.

After his military career had come to an end, like many United States veterans, Baca suffers from PTSD. In his battle against PTSD, he found golf to be, outside of his family, the only healer to combat this heinous disorder.

Over the years, Baca has fought his battle with PTSD through the love of his family and through golf. His game has developed to a level that allows for him to compete in an annual under ten handicap golf tournament in Pinhurst, NC.

Overall, Baca's goal is to qualify for the senior PGA, and this tournament is his first step into making that goal become a reality.
