Richard Bissell Everyones Favorite Bus Driver!

This is being done with Richard's permission...Richard Bissell is a proud Wells High School graduate of the Class of 1978. For the last 15 years, after a career at Genest Concrete, Richard became a bus driver in the Wells School District & also started driving the athletes to their sporting events on the nights & weekends. During the day, he drives the bus multiple times back and forth to Sanford Regional Tech Center (SRTC) and would even drive the bus for Wells Activites for the Rec on Sundays bring the kids to ski mountains, etc. He sometimes is driving the bus 7 days a week! Last Year, Richard was suppose to be retiring to have a farm and spend his time hunting & fishing and enjoying retirement with his wife Karen & his son Corey but after a heart attack and the medical bills he had because of it, he needed to continue to work with a plan to retire after this year. In December, Richard learned that he has an agressive form of Bladder Cancer & after surgery in December, he is now undergoing Chemotherapy treatment. You might ask, "Wait a second, I just saw Richard at the basketball game or wrestling meet last week?"...that's because Richard is still at this point driving the bus for the kids and very concerned about having to miss this game or this meet because of his treatment days. That's the kind of guy Richard is. He loves our kids, he loves to watch them & support them and see them grow. The graduates of Wells over the last 15 years come and give him hugs when they see him. They joke about how fast (but safely) he drives the bus! He means something to them! This is our opportunity to support Richard, Karen, & Corey and show them how much we appreciate him! All funds from this will be going directly to Richard.

There is also a spagetti feed fundraiser that will be done at Wells High School on January 24th.
