Richard Bitting. Dear Friend & Brother in Iron

It is my sad responsibility to let you know that our friend and brother Richard Bitting passed away this morning between 3 and 4 AM November 12, 2023. He had just arrived home from work and was getting ready to settle in when he collapsed and never regained consciousness. At this time, this is all the answers that we have, so please leave questions of that nature to rest so the people that are hurting can have peace.

Ever since we met Richard and his fiancé Lyndsey Wright, they’ve always been what I consider to be the ideal people and the ideal couple. Watching them live their lives together and for each other has been an inspiration to everyone around the gym.

Richard and I have talked on several occasions about how lucky we were when it came to the women in our lives. I can tell you with absolutely no doubt that he had never been happier or more fulfilled than he was now.

They were together at every Powerlifting event…every Bodybuilding show…every function that involved our people, they always wanted to be there and offer support. They really loved you guys and were always offering help and taking photos for us because being together as a part of our community meant the world to them.

Friends, in what ever way you can, please give comfort to Lyndsey. She’s going to need her family’s love and support more than ever. We’ve set up a GoFundMe account to help with final medical bills and funeral expenses, but it’s too soon to know the full financial outlook and see what other hurdles they may have.

Again, send money if you can. But I know that times aren’t easy, so send friendship or well-wishes or even just do something nice for someone else in Richard’s name. I know he’d appreciate it.
