Global Warrior Project - Foundation Expedition

I am an outdoor enthusiast, photographer, videographer and passionate environmental advocate from Saddleworth on the Yorkshire border. Before working in marketing, I had worked primarily on behalf Non-Profit Organisations including Greenpeace, WWF, Amnesty International and Shelter both in the UK and Australia. It was through this experience that opened my eyes to the issues and injustice faced in our world, and I have since become endeavoured to act and to play my part in doing something about it.

After entering an online competition in July organised by Henri Lloyd, I was invited to take part in a survival training weekend in Dartmoor. This was a highly intensive 2 day weekend that aimed to test us both physically and mentally with challenges and scenarios one might face on an expedition.

As a result of that weekend, I now have the opportunity to join renowned explorer and founder Jim McNeill this September as part of the Foundation Expedition, which will circumnavigate around Svalbard to set up vital scientific equipment that will help measure the impact of climate change. As I prepare to take part in this transformative venture, I'm reaching out to kindred spirits, businesses with a shared vision, and individuals who believe in the power of unified action. The Ocean Warrior project; is an eleven-year endeavour to take Europe’s largest wooden Schooner - crewed by ordinary members of the public - from Svalbard to Plymouth and on to the Ice Warrior base in Resolute Bay, Canada in the Northwest Passage, and return. This scientifically significant project will build a better understanding of the planets tipping points through citizen science.

To secure my place aboard the Ocean Warrior and cover essential costs, I'm striving to raise £8,000 through sponsorships.
