Richard & Hope: Char & Marty Fund

Donation protected
As many of you know, on Valentine's Day, we lost Char to cancer, and we want to first and foremost thank our friends and loved ones for all their support, shared tears, prayers, remembrances, and unending love through this time of loss. Also know, through the grief, there have been some blessings with family reunions, so we are also thankful amidst the sadness.

Last night, after a wonderful day with friends and famly loving on each other through the loss, my parents had to rush their beloved Marty to the vet to discover a spleen issue and internal bleeding. As I type this, I have not received word yet as to Marty's surgical outcome this afternoon, but, as you can imagine if you know how much of a family member Marty is to them, this has added to their grief.

For all of you that know them, my parents are 110% givers, and you know how much more comfortable they are with giving rather than receiving. When we were growing up, our home oftentimes had a family friend (or 2 or 3 or 10) as company during life transitions. Our doors weren't ever locked, and there was an open door policy day or night. And if there wasn't room in the house, there was always room in the cabana at the pool ;o). They would literally share the shirts off their back for a friend or family member in need without hesitation. This is why, I know if they see this, it will make them uncomfortable with us putting out the word to ask for help, but I also know that all of us would cherish the opportunity to shower blessings on them during this stressful season, to help with the unexpected memorial costs for Char and the vet surgery bills for Marty, as we've received requests from several friends to setup a fund for them.

Once we learn more about Marty's condition, we'll update you all so you know how best to support them, and as we learn more about final costs for each, we'll adjust the fund goal as needed, as we wanted to begin the giving opportunity now so expenses can begin being paid and they can focus on grieving and not these unexpected financial hiccups.

Thank you all again . . . Dad & Hope have the most loving family and friends a person could ever ask for, and we thank you for that from the bottom of our hearts.

Marty Update: Marty's surgery was very smooth, and the Vet said, "he was a gentleman." Recovery went well, but biopsy results confirmed an agressive type of spleen cancer.  For now, he is a happy man, and lots of love, special food, herbs, etc. shall be showered upon him each day.
