Richard (Dickie) Lajaunie's SCLC fight story!

On April 29th 2021, my Dad went in for a biopsy that came back good..... or so we thought. The next day, we knew it was something bad, when the Dr left a message.

By June, he was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) Limited and immediately started Chemotherapy 3 times a week, along with Radiation twice a day for 21 days, and became a participant in a new study trial drug for SCLC.

After his first Chemo infusion, he had a heart attack due to an unforseen blockage.

After Chemo infusion number two, he went into Septic shock from Ecoli.

After his third infusion, he caught Covid and missed out on his family vacation.

A few months later he was in remission, but that was short lived as the Cancer returned in mid 2022. We started round 2 of Chemotherapy and Brain Radiation began as well. He also was a participant in the same trail, yet this time he received the experimental drug not the placebo loke before. The Chemotherapy drug was extremely strong and did cause him to lose his hair, which was long, so I decided to shave my ponytail off too!

After completing Round 2 of Chemotherapy and Brain Radiation his scans came back with little improvement and the oncologist explained we had 1 more option for treatment and he said he will keep fighting! So he fought the good fight and is still fighting and fighting hard.

I've made this to raise money for the expenses that are soon to come. Anything helps, no amount is too small. Thank you and May God bless you
