Dear Fellow Brentwood Country Club Member,
I hope this email finds you and your family safe and healthy. For those of you who don’t know me, I am a board member and also the chair of the Golf Operations committee at the club. As you have heard, the board has taken the extraordinary step of furloughing most of our club employees so that they can take advantage of the unemployment provisions in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (aka the CARES Act). This allows employees to receive the equivalent or almost the equivalent of their wages from the government until our club can reopen.
However, this law affects our tennis, golf and fitness professionals differently than it does our other employees. Our teaching professionals receive an hourly wage and derive a significant majority of their income from lessons. The unemployment provisions in the CARES Act do not cover their teaching income, which will put them in a very difficult financial situation. As you know, the pros have already have been without any teaching income since March 17.
I am writing to you personally because you and/or someone in your family takes golf lessons from Richard Mountford. Richard could really use some help right now to supplement his lost teaching income during the coronavirus crisis. If you are in a position to, I hope you would consider providing some direct assistance to Richard. I have set up a GoFundme Campaign for your convenience.
My family takes lessons from Richard I am giving to this campaign because I feel our employees at Brentwood Country Club are essential to the joy that the club brings myself and my family. We think of all BCC employees as extended members of our own family, and we want to do everything we can to help them. If you are in a position to, I hope you would consider helping as well.
Richard wanted me to give a message to all of you that he and his family are doing well and he looks forward to seeing all of you and continuing to help you with your golf goals.
