Richard "Richie" Lezette

On behalf of my husband, Rich... I am creating this fundraiser asking for financial help and support through this difficult time. Richard passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2024 after a short battle with lung cancer, leaving behind myself, his wife, Christine Lezette and 3 stepchildren- Jisela, 22 yr old, Natalie, 13 yr old and Christopher, 12yr old. The financial assistance needed is going toward funeral expenses and memorial so Rich can be laid down to rest and his life can be celebrated with family and friends. Here is a little background behind the diagnosis leading up to Rich's passing. Rich was diagnosed in February 2023, with Stage 4 lung cancer with mets to the brain. He was 54 years old at the time of his diagnosis. He was experiencing worsening respiratory symptoms such as a persistent cough, intermittent shortness of breath, weight loss and fatigue. He went to see his primary care MD and from that appointment he was sent for a STAT CT scan. It was less than 1 hour after that CT scan when we received the phone call that would change Richś life forever. Over the past 11 months, Rich had undergone multiple different treatments- immunotherapy, chemotherapy, etc, and different procedures. However, Rich experienced multiple complications as a result of treatment as well as the progression of the cancer. Rich attempted to work on and off at his place of employment, but it became less and less overtime due to his worsening physical symptoms.

Over the past few weeks, I had been home with Rich, helping keep him comfortable and assisting with his activities of daily living. With this being said, the unanticipated out of pocket expensive so quickly and unexpected for funeral arrangements loom large. What is certain however, is how much your outpouring of love and support to our family over the past few days especially with meals cooks, visiting us and staying at the house all hours of the night, mean a lot to us. I am not one that always asks for help, but the need now is real and it is for this reason that I humbly ask for your generosity and help. Please share this with friends and family. Thank you!
