Richard Rowland passed away on June 27, 2022. He was 61 years old. In October of 2020, he was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor. He fought a good fight, but it regrew with a vengeance. He was a family man, leaving the love of his life, Suzanne, after 17 years of marriage. Along with his son Brandon, daughter-in-law Krystal, and his beloved granddaughter, Scarlett. Richard was the eldest of 5 boys, all of whom miss him daily and along with his parents, were able to visit and say goodbye the week before his passing. Pastor Aubrey Rowland, and beloved Mother Pat Rowland are deeply saddened by their firstborn's passing.
Richard worked in the offshore oil industry for over 30 years, and was able to work on some of the most innovative projects in the industry. With his crowning achievement being in the building and operation of the FPSO Turritella. His greatest passion, outside of his family, was being on the open sea.
He loved meeting new people and was a trusting and loyal friend. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone he thought was in need. If he was able to help someone, he would. Though everyone he met had to learn about the Turritella and his dogs.
Richard had no life insurance, and Suzanne has been his primary caregiver for the battle that took his life. We are collecting donations for final and other expenses over the next couple of months. All proceeds will go to the gofundme account of Suzanne Rowland.
On behalf of his family, we appreciate it and God bless.
